Mosaïque Saint-Romaine-en-Gal

The Gallic-roman Museum is situated on the left bank of the Rhone river, facing the city of Vienne, in the Isere department. The building of the museum was built in the 1990’s above the rests of a Roman quarter remaining from the 1rst century BC to the 2nd AD. The wals of this residential area have been exeptionnaly well preserved, so that is is quite easy to imagine the everyday life of the people who lived there 2000 years ago. Inside the museum, you can see the beautiful mosaics which decorated the floor of the rich dwellings which belonged to rich merchands or politicians.

This tour is perfect for passionate people in Archeology and History. It can be adapted to children.
